The name of Jesus

If you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, then this song is a celebration of the incredible forgiveness and new life He has given you.  Lift your head and rejoice!

If you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus, then I challenge you to consider what He has done for you and the forgiveness and victory He wants to give you.  He is pursuing you with His love.  Consider His offer and step into new life with Him.

What a beautiful Name it is
Nothing compares to this
What a beautiful Name it is
The Name of Jesus

You didn’t want heaven without us
So Jesus, You brought heaven down
My sin was great, Your love was greater
What could separate us now

What a wonderful Name it is
The Name of Jesus Christ my King

What a wonderful Name it is
Nothing compares to this
What a wonderful Name it is
The Name of Jesus

Death could not hold You, the veil tore before You
You silenced the boast of sin and grave
The heavens are roaring, the praise of Your glory
For You are raised to life again

You have no rival, You have no equal
Now and forever, God You reign
Yours is the Kingdom, Yours is the glory
Yours is the Name, above all names

What a powerful Name it is
What a powerful Name it is
The Name of Jesus Christ my King

What a powerful Name it is
Nothing can stand against
What a powerful Name it is
The Name of Jesus

What Happens Next?

It’s not a surprise that most of us live as if we are never going to die.  That’s human nature. Yet all of us know someone who has been taken from this world suddenly. This life does end.  So then what?…

Believe it or not, we all will live forever somewhere.  Not here.  We will shed this body and take up residence in either heaven or hell.  I know…no one likes to think about hell.  I sure don’t.  But the reality is that each of us has make a choice to make that will determine where we spend eternity.

Jesus Christ came to offer us forgiveness and new life.  He gave His life so that each of us would choose to love Him; to follow Him; to step into “life that is truly life”.  He pursues each individual with the truth of His love.  I have heard it said that you have to step over Jesus and reject His offer in order to choose hell.  He loves you more than you can imagine and His desire is for you to have abundant life and be with Him forever.

Unfortunately, those who choose not to receive that gift of forgiveness and do not believe in Jesus Christ will spend eternity apart from Him.  They will go to hell willingly because they rejected the truth time and time again. The bottom line is that if we don’t want Him here, then we will be apart from Him for eternity.  It is our choice.

Those who do believe in Him and step into a relationship with Him receive the gift of new life – here and now, and eventually in heaven.

True love always requires a choice.  He will not force us to love Him in return.  But His heart is that you would choose Him and live.

It’s not about religion, folks.  It’s about a relationship. A one-on-one relationship with the only Person who loved you enough to die for you and who pursues you with His love.

We are all leaving this earth.  Many when we least expect it.  It could be next year, next week, or even this afternoon.  What will you do with the offer of Jesus?  Choose wisely and understand that eternity is on the line.

Choose to believe in Him and receive the free gift of salvation.  He will change your heart and your life in ways that will make you realize that you never really lived until you knew Him.  I know because it happened to me.

On Purpose

One of the most liberating things I ever learned was that I am not here by accident.  I was created for a purpose much bigger than anything I could ever come up with.

The God of the universe knit me together, gave me physical features, talents, passions, and personality unique to me, so that I could accomplish something important for Him in this world. Something unique. Something eternal. (Mind boggling, huh?!)

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to get to the end of this life and realize that I just took up space.

  • I want step up.
  • I want to fulfill my purpose.
  • I want “life that is truly life”.
